I’ve always joked that sleeping is my Olympic sport. According to my Oura ring, my sleep is consistently “optimal” (brag) and one of my favorite little commonplace indulgences is allowing myself a few minutes each morning to simply lay in bed after I wake up to enjoy the coziness of my sleep space before I start the day. All of which is to say, I take my bedding situation seriously., including my bed linens. Though I’m still dedicated to my old favorites over the last few months I’ve been mixing things up with a new find, and reader, I am obsessed.
The sheet set in question? Ettitude’s Luxe CleanBamboo Sateen+ sheets. The reason? Well, let’s start with the feel. Made from the brand’s own signature version of bamboo-based lyocell, the fabric is woven in a patented PLNTsilk weave to be absurdly soft. Think: your favorite washable silk pillowcase, without the slipperiness factor. Straight from the package they felt totally decadent, with that cooling bodyfeel that sateen sheet devotees like your truly will crave, and as I’ve washed them they’ve only gotten more buttery to the touch. Even my partner, who is famously oblivious to details, has noticed how luxurious they feel, remarking “oh, we got the good sheets,” every time I make up the bed with them.
The sheets are also designed to be antimicrobial (to be honest, I have no idea how to test this, but it sounds like a good thing, so why not) and thermo-regulating, so they’re prefect for hot sleepers or those of us in NYC apartments with inconsistent temperature controls. That’s not to say that they’re flimsy, though—in fact, they have a nice heft that I, as someone who wants the weight of a blanket on me even in summer, can really appreciate as we look forward to warmer months.
